MOMBO CAMP & JAO CAMP

Jao Camp lies within vast floodplains, an area with beautiful islands fringed with riverine forests and prolific wildlife. The camp was designed by the architects of North Island in the Seychelles, ensuring a high level of sophistication. Mombo Camp is elegant, colonial and totally inspired by nature, built under large shady trees overlooking a wonderful floodplain teeming with wildlife. This is the Africa seen in wildlife documentaries.

LOCATION & ACCOMMODATION

Each camp features 9 individually crafted and spacious tents, which stand on raised decks under shady trees to offer magnificent vistas, connected with main buildings by walkways. Every tent has ensuite facilities, double vanity and indoor and outdoor showers, as well as a sala for game watching. Animals often wander past under the rooms.

30–35 minutes by light plane from Maun International Airport.

The Jao spa overlooking lush waterways sprinkled with water lilies for African treatments inspired by Mother Nature. Relaxing on your sala to catch game passing by under your room.

FACILITIES & ACTIVITIES

In addition to lounge & dining areas, the camps each offer outdoor boma for dining under the stars. Each offers a range of massage therapies and a plunge pool. Morning and afternoon game drives included. Jao Camp also offers boating, fishing and mokoro excursions depending on water levels, and hippo, crocodile, elephant, buffalo, leopard, tsessebe, zebra & wildebeest may be seen. At Mombo, lion sightings are frequent, leopard and spotted hyena, as well as vast numbers of herd animals.
