KINGS POOL & VUMB URA PLAINS

Luxury camps offering tents with their own plunge pools. Kings Pool lies on a private reserve adjoining Chobe National Park, overlooking a river and lagoon full of hippo. Great wild life experiences include lion, leopard, cheetah and elephant. Vumbura Plains overlooks a vast floodplain in the extreme north of the Okavango Delta, featuring a diversity of land and water habitats. Wild life experiences include lion, leopard, cheetah and elephant.

LOCATION & ACCOMMODATION

Kings Pool overlooks Linyanti River and the ox-bow shaped lagoon, featuring 9 tented rooms. Each offers own plunge pool, sleeping area, lounge, sala & ensuite bathroom with shower, bath, flush toilet, outdoor shower. Also offers a romantic honeymoon room. Vumbura Plains has two satellite camps linked by boardwalks comprising 14 tented rooms on wooden platforms. The tents offer own plunge pool, lounge, sala & ensuite bathroom with shower, bath, flush toilet plus outdoor shower.

TRANSPORT

Kings Pool is 5 min by 4WD from airstrip; 50 minutes by light plane from Maun. Vumbura Plains 40 min by 4WD from the airstrip; 40 minutes by light plane from Maun.

DON'T MISS

Sitting quietly in a hide at Kings Pool to see hippos wallowing. Gazing over the flood plains at Vumbura from your own sala and plunge pool.

FACILITIES & ACTIVITIES

The camps have own dining, lounge & pub areas raised off the ground under romantic thatch, with decks on stilts, and offer bomas for romantic firelit dining. Kings Pool also offers a swimming pool and 2 hides (for animal viewing). Raised walkways allow elephants and other animals to wander freely through the camps. Daily game drives in open 4WD vehicles are included, as well as walking safaris, trips in mokoros (dugout canoes) depending on flood levels. Kings Pool is noted for its enormous elephant population, especially in winter. Wild dog and hyena are also regularly sighted.
